Mrs. Ruth Frances Baggarly Drye, age 97 passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 16, 2018.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 am Thursday, October 18 at Wilkinson Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11 am in the chapel with Rev. Robert Leonard and Rev. Joey Morrison officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
Mrs. Drye was born September 21, 1921 in Cabarrus County, a daughter of the late William Marshall and Cora Bell Fry Baggarly. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Houston Drye, son Ted Drye, 3 sisters and 1 brother.
Ruth was a lifelong member of Southside Baptist Church, where she had been a Sunday school teacher, bible school teacher and the church pianist. She thoroughly enjoyed playing the piano and reading. She was dearly loved by her family and church friends.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Rhonda Hill and husband, Charles of Concord; granddaughters, Darla and Paige Hill; many nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.
Thank you to Interim Health Services and caregivers, Faye Tuscano, Priscilla Leach and Sylvia Severt, for all their love and care shown to Mrs. Drye and her family.
Memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church, 561 Union Cemetery Road, SW, Concord, NC 28025, or to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
