Obituary for Carolyn Sue Hatley (Wilkinson)
Ms. Carolyn Wilkinson Hatley of Concord passed away Sunday January 31, 2021 at Atrium Health Cabarrus.
A graveside service will be 11 am Thursday February 4 at West Concord Cemetery officiated by Rev. Don Burleyson. The family will receive friends at the cemetery, following the service. Face masks are requested by the family who welcomes your presence, but if anyone does not feel comfortable and/or is unable to attend - they just covet your prayers.
Carolyn was born November 4, 1952 in Concord to the late Walter Lee (June) Wilkinson and Evelyn Yow Wilkinson. She was also preceded in death by brother, Johnny Wilkinson.
Carolyn worked at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital as a lab technician from 1972 until 1985, and later as a Teacher’s Assistant at Wolf Meadow Elementary for 24 years. After retiring from the school system Carolyn worked part-time at Kerr Drug and currently at The Medicine Shoppe. She was involved with her sons’ ball teams throughout their school years and was always their biggest cheerleader. Carolyn was also known to be a cheerleader for those that needed her most as well. You knew upon meeting her that you had a friend for life. She always went that extra mile for her family; for her kids at school, and for those she served at the pharmacies in which she worked.
Carolyn is survived by sons, Lee and Bryant Hatley; grandchildren, Wesley Hatley and Kasay Hatley; and sister-in-law, Debbie Wilkinson.
