Obituary for Carolyn Dorton Shue

Mrs. Carolyn Elizabeth Dorton Shue, 77, of Kannapolis, passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at her home.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, February 19, 2021 at Kannapolis Church of God, officiated by Dr. Greg Sloop, with burial to follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1-2 prior to the service.

The service will be live-streamed on the Kannapolis Church of God Facebook page.

Carolyn was born on October 28, 1943 in Concord to the late Walter “Pete” Brown Dorton and Dolsie “Dot” Beatrice Hice Dorton. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Hiram Shue, Sr.; brothers, Carl Dorton, Earl Keller, and Plese Keller.

Carolyn was full of life and enjoyed helping others. She was a dedicated volunteer who served coffee at CFA Senior Luncheon’s and always had time to play with a precious great-grandchild. Carolyn was a faithful member of Kannapolis Church of God and attended Sunday School regularly. She enjoyed trips to the beach and camping.

She is survived by her daughters, Terry L. Barnes and husband, Terry, Sherri Snyder and fiancé, Tyler Sherrill; son, Frankie Shue and wife, Darlene; sister, Vicky Khan and husband, Z; grandchildren, Matthew Shue and wife, Megan, Daniel Shue and wife, Kayla, Angel Hackworth; Logan Warren and fiancée Gina Blackwood, Dominique Snyder, Jessica Hackworth; great-grandchildren, Carson, Conner, and Payton Shue, and one on the way; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
