Obituary for Charlene Lee Goodwin (Richardson)
Mrs. Charlene Lee Richardson Goodwin, 60 of Concord passed away on December 20, 2020, with her daughter by her side. The family will hold a memorial service at a later date.
Mrs. Goodwin was born on September 29, 1960 in Annapolis, Maryland to the late Charles Leroy and Shirley Ann Gaskins Richardson, of New Bern, NC. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Richard Lee Evans II, and a brother Charles “Bucky” Richardson. Mrs. Goodwin is survived by her daughter, Mrs. LeeAnn Barnhardt, and her husband, Jerry Thomas Barnhardt, of Concord; sisters Mrs. Jean “Libby” Hadder of New Bern, NC and Mrs. Lynn Jansen of Greenville, NC. She leaves behind her 5 grandchildren; Hunter, Hannah, Haleigh, Colton and Finlee Barnhardt, along with her dog, Desi.
Mrs. Goodwin was an accomplished school teacher in Pitt, Wilson and Pamlico County, teaching in grades Kindergarten through 6th grade. She earned her Masters in Education, and had a passion for educating and nurturing young children. She will be remembered as a loving mother, “Mimi” and friend to all who knew her.
