Obituary for Gary Bruce Kabelitz
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Mr. Gary Bruce Kabelitz, 65, of Concord, NC., formerly of Sag Harbor, NY, who passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Gary was born on July 24, 1957, in Germany, on a U.S. Air Force Base, to the late Doris Harrietts Kabelitz and Henry Gustav “Gus” Kabelitz. He grew up in a military family and lived in various places around the world including Germany, Spain, Texas, New Mexico and New York.
Gary started his career in marine engine repair and later transitioned to small engine repair. He was a hard working and loyal employee. He was also a car enthusiast with a particular passion for muscle cars and attending car shows. His prized possession was his coveted ‘69 Z-28 Camaro along with his Boss 302 Mustang.
Gary and his wife, Lili Anne LeCorre Kabelitz, had lived in Sag Harbor, NY, for many years and recently moved to Concord, NC following the completion of designing and building their dream home.
Gary is survived by his wife of more than 30 years, Lili Anne LeCorre Kabelitz; son, Jonathan Schroll and wife Andrea of Middleton, MA; sister, Gail O’Neill and husband Steven of Palm Beach,Gardens, FL; as well as his grandchildren, Cayden and Colton Schroll, his niece and goddaughter Brenna Stitzel and niece Colleen Timpone, his nephew Daniel O’Neill and his great niece Aila.
A memorial service for Gary will be held at a later date. Our thoughts and condolences are with Gary's family and friends during this difficult time.
