Obituary for Howard George McCunn
Mr. Howard George McCunn, 78, of Concord, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2023, surrounded by his family.
The family will receive friends from 1-1:30pm on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at St. James the Greater Roman Catholic Church. The mass will follow at 1:30pm with Father Jerome officiating.
Mr. McCunn was born on September 30, 1944, in Queens County, NY, to the late Howard Wilson and Frances Kastner McCunn. Howard married his beloved wife, Mrs. Dorothy McCunn, in 1968. Howard and Dorothy went on to have three daughters, Meredith, Allison, and Stephanie, as well as seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Howard was a devoted “Dad” and “Papa.” He will be remembered for his sincere love, support, and pride in his family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy; children, Meredith Dillner of Concord, NC, Allison (John) Pielack of Concord, NC, and Stephanie Gorman of Concord, NC; grandchildren, Meghan (Jordan) Taylor of Moncks Corner, SC, Kaitlyn (Julian) Reid of Madison, AL, and Blaise Dillner of Concord, NC, Dylan and Cameron Pielack of Concord, NC, & Kevin and Hayley Gorman of Concord, NC; great-grandchildren, Emersyn and Lauren Taylor of Moncks Corner, SC; sister, Christine Lahovitch of Sound Beach, NY; as well as a beloved aunt, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
