Obituary

Ms. Jaquelinne Salazar, 23, of Winston Salem passed away Saturday, March 7, 2020.

The family will receive friends from 6 pm until 8 pm Monday, March 16, 2020 at Wilkinson Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held at 11 am Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at St. James Catholic Church with Father Jerome Chavarria officiating. She will be laid to rest in St. James Catholic Church cemetery following the service.

She was born on July 9, 1996 to Abel Salazar and Nora (Ojeda) Bauer in San Diego County, California.

Her proudest moments were winning the NCCAA Regional tournament for women’s soccer in 2016, achieving her bachelor’s degree in biblical studies with a concentration on family counseling, receiving her QMHP (Qualified Mental Health Professional) certificate, and receiving two promotions (supervisor to manager) at Timber Ridge Treatment Center consecutively.

Her passions were loving her family, having fun with friends, soccer and softball, convincing others to do that crazy thing they were debating on doing, and loving above all. If you knew Jacky, you had a friend.

Jacky was the friend who would listen to you while everyone talked around you, the one who would drive you to get your favorite food at 3am, even if she had to work the next morning. Her selfless love and fun spirit made her everyone’s favorite person. And she would make you laugh, too.

Left to cherish her memories are her mother, Nora Bauer and father, Abel Salazar; step-father, Nathan Bauer; sisters, Norisbel, Gabby, and Crystal Salazar; step-brother, Leandro Bauer; and a host of aunts, uncles, and extended family members.

Her faith in the Lord was unshakable, for she knew His love. And His love carried her and her family through a multitude of mountains and valleys. She is helping the Lord prepare our rooms now, and we can’t wait to see her again. Rest easy, Jacky. Well done.

Psalm 139

I, just today, found out about Jacky and to say the least, I am stunned! What an amazing young lady - a friend to so many, kind, athletic and so, so smart. I was honored to have her in class and on the filed. To her sister and the rest of the family, I send my love and hope for shared memories to last you all a lifetime. She definitely had picked the best possible things to study - she would be a terrific counselor for sure! Prayers to all, Coach Mitchell

I miss you a lot. Saturday morning’s are pretty tough, but I know it’s just for a little while. Do you remember that time we had to wash a pot of week-old rice because we were living at another house? And we couldn’t stand the smell so we sprayed Fabreeze everywhere and inside the pot? Except it combined with the smell and made an even worse one😂 I bet you if I smelled that same Fabreeze now I’d probably gag. Those years were golden. We had nothing but we also had each other which was everything. I can’t wait to hug you again. You were the best big sister I could’ve ever asked for. We love and miss you. Enjoy the Kingdom! Lucky butt.

Mom misses us making a bunch of racket now. We would make beats on everything and honestly if we had been recording we probably could’ve sold some of the raps we made up while we did the dishes together😂

We went out to eat with all the family last night and that’s when I missed you most. You were the life of the party. I miss you so much. And I can’t wait to see you again.

You were the best roommate and best friend anyone could ask for. My first 3 years of college were amazing, and im glad you were there by my side to laugh, cry and play the game we both loved. Rest Easy, and always remember #yellowhouse
