Mr. Joe Willice Porter, age 93, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 2, 2021.

Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Julia M. Porter and his son, Edward Lee Porter. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Lucian and Annie Gray Porter; siblings, Rosa Porter, Geneva Porter, David Porter, John Porter, Lillie Porter, Daisy Sizemore, Blooma Porter, Catherine Porter, Mary Mcinnis, Christine Freeman, and Mable Porter.

Joe is survived by his daughter, Julia Walker, son in law, Louis Walker Jr., and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also mourned by many beloved friends.

Dad was a devoted, kind, and protective father. He always helped me whenever I needed him. I could tell him anything, as he was a good listener and confidante. He was an encouraging parent who allowed me to feel my strength in all situations through the years.

Dad was generous. He was respectful and polite to everyone. He always inspired me and made me feel loved and special. He knew the woman I was and understood my heart. Dad was kindhearted, smart, very strong, and disciplined. He could make me laugh and loved to joke. If I could have had the opportunity to select a dad, he was the one I would have picked. Most importantly, Dad knew and trusted God. Those who knew and loved him, will greatly miss him. He was so precious to me, and he will live in my heart forever.

I will always remember “Teal” as one of the 3 Amigos. He Loved his self some David and YC. I will always remember their trips to Sharpsburg, and the fun and laughter we shared on “The Porch “. Teal was always dressed, sharp as a tack. Rest easy Teal, you will be missed.
