Obituary

Mr. Johnny Morris Hinson, 78, of Concord, passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his family.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, April 23, 2021 at Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev.’s Kevin Hartsell, Rick Wilson and Ronnie Rogers with burial to follow at West Concord Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm on Thursday, April 22 at Wilkinson Funeral Home.

Johnny was born on January 22, 1943 in Cabarrus Co. to the late Gertrude Whittington Hinson and Rubin Lawson Hinson, Sr. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Lawson Hinson.

Johnny attended Hartsell High School and worked for many years as a slasher/tender at Cannon Mills. He enjoyed long drives in the country, singing and praising our Lord. He was into talking with people on-line, having friends all over the world he kept in touch with. His granddaughter and great-granddaughter were his pride and joy, spending as much time with them as possible.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years whom he married on Dec. 25 1963, Mildred Ruth Jordan Hinson; daughter, Tammy Hagler and husband Jerry; grandchildren, Candice Thomason-Hudson and husband Christopher James Hudson; great granddaughter, Paisley-Ann Grace Hudson.

So sorry to hear of Johnny's passing, I'm sure he is rejoicing in Heaven. He was always so very friendly. I enjoyed talking with him and Mildred whenever we saw them. Surely he will be missed. We will keep his family in our prayers.
