Obituary

Karen Ann May McKinney, 71, of Concord, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at her home, surrounded by her family.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday May 23, 2020 at Wilkinson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1pm until 4pm prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.

Karen was born on April 3, 1949 in Warsaw, NY to the late Norman and Shirley Brown May. She is also preceded in death by her sister, Diane.

Karen was employed by S&D Coffee and Tea Company. She was an avid NASCAR fan who enjoyed camping with her “racing family” at the races. Karen also lived for gatherings of her family.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Thomas McKinney; daughters, Cheryl Pire and husband Jeff, of Bessemer City, Vicki Ferris and husband Mike, of Silver Spring, NY; son, Brian McKinney of Taylorsville; grandchildren, Samantha, Matt, Mike, and Aaron; great grandchildren, Zoey, James, and Andrew; brother, Norman May and wife Linda of Heritage, NY; and special friend Joe Ridgewell of Canada.
