Obituary for Kevin Jermaine Jones
Mr. Kevin Jermaine Jones. age 39 was called to paradise on Tuesday May 8, 2023, in the early morning hours from an automobile accident. Kevin was working at his new delivery job, and he was the passenger. Mr. Kevin Jermaine Jones was born on April 27, 1984, to parents Ms. Carmen R. Jones and Mr. Willie M. Slade in Greensboro, NC. After Kevin received his GED, he went on to become an entrepreneur, song writer, talented singer, and performer on and off the stage. He was passionate about his music; Kevin was determined to make his music known worldwide.
Kevin would sing, without hesitation, at any moment, for any reason, for anyone. He was a loving, devoted brother to his siblings. A dedicated father to his children in many unique ways. He never met a stranger. He was a loving and caring friend. Kevin had perfected the art of being a great listener, never passing judgement. He was free-spirited. He enjoyed traveling, all while sharing his love of music. He loved photography and was a sharp dresser of many unique fashion trends. He was quick to provide his own “touches” here and there to his outfit. Kevin loved sports, he played several as he grew up and loved supporting other family and friends in their own endeavors. He loved basketball, baseball, and especially football. He was an Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Eagles fan.
Kevin enjoyed many hobbies such as car detailing and collaborating in developing music in local studios. He was an advent lover of dogs and owned many during his lifetime. He was family- oriented and enjoyed spending time with his brothers. He had a “Bigger than life itself” personality that would fill your soul with immeasurable joy, laughter, and it was infectious.
Kevin is survived by his parents Ms. Carmen R. Jones, Willie M. Slade and supporting loving parent Anthony W. Hayes, Sr. Children, Cameron M. Hughes, Kevin J. Jones, Laela K. Jones, Rita R. Jones and Landon G. Jones. His sisters are Ms. DeShannon H. Ashley, Mrs. Sadé Love (Jones) and husband Raychan, and Ms. Shanetra W. Slade. His brothers Mr. Anthony W. Hayes Jr., Mr. Dewayne N. Jones, and Mr. Michael Barnett. His nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends.
Homegoing Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday May 18, 2023, at Robert Baptist Church, 3301 Roberta Rd., Concord, NC 28027 with Pastor Jordan Perkins officiating. The family will receive extended family friends on Wednesday May 17, 2023, at Wilkinson Funeral Home, 100 Branchview Dr. NE, Concord, NC 28025 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
