Obituary for Linda Scott
Mrs. Linda Stanley Scott, age 79, of Concord passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at Tucker Hospice House.
The family will receive friends in the narthex of St. James the Greater Catholic Church on Friday, January 27 from 1 to 2 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the church at 2 pm with Father Jerome Chavarria CSsR officiating. Linda will be inurned at St. James Catholic Church cemetery following the service.
Linda was born November 3, 1943 in Cabarrus County and was the daughter of the late John Thomas Stanley and Katherine Simpson Stanley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ray Scott, daughter, Rebecca Grey, and brothers, Phillip and Dallas Stanley.
Linda enjoyed cooking, traveling with Bill, and gardening. She retired from Snyder Packaging and was a member of St. James the Greater Catholic Church.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Mark Sloop, Libby Blackwelder and husband, Brian, and Melissa Boehm and husband, Ben; grandchildren, Alex Sloop, Lewis Williams and wife, Megan, Leigh Poteat and husband, Brad, and Mary Blackwelder; brother, Tom Stanley and wife, Kathy; sister-in-law, Gail Stanley; several nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends who will miss Linda dearly.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Memorials Processing, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105-9959.
