Obituary for Mildred Deese (Dixon)
Mrs. Mildred Dixon Deese, age 85, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Sunday, March 22, 2020.
Mrs. Deese was born April 15 ,1934 in Darlington County, SC, one of 11 children born to Noel and Connie Dixon. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Deese, and 10 siblings.
Mildred retired from the Cabarrus county school system as a cafeteria manager. She served at Mt. Pleasant Middle School for years, and then substituted at various other schools after retirement. She loved to sew, garden and cook for her family and large gatherings, such as family reunions and church functions. She was a member of Friendship Southern Baptist Church.
Left to cherish Mildred’s memory is her children, Melvia Dalton and husband, Olin, Pamela Laury and husband, Johnny, Brenda Hartsell and husband, Jack, Lori Watts and husband, Rick, Charles Deese and wife, Connie; 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 1 on the way; numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends who dearly loved Mildred.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081 or to the Coltrane Life Center, 321 Corban Avenue SE, Concord, NC 28025.
Due to the current situation with COVID-19, the family doesn’t want anyone being compromised, so they will have a private service with immediate family only.
