Obituary for Norma Sherrill
Mrs. Norma West Sherrill, age 83, of Concord passed away Friday, January 1, 2021 at Atrium Health Cabarrus.
Mrs. Sherrill will lie in state on Friday January 8th from 11:00am to 2:00pm at Wilkinson Funeral Home. Pastor John Freeman will have words of comfort for the family beginning at 2:00pm.
Norma was born May 9, 1937 in Stark county, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Joseph F. West and Gertrude Sharp West. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Nolan Rogers and Grady Shipman; sister Dorothy “Dot” Hassig and daughter-in-law, Sherry Rogers.
Norma was a kind-hearted, family-orientated, wife and mother. She had a keen fashion sense that included adventurous hair colors. Her passion was in the kitchen cooking for friends and family as well as satisfying her sweet tooth. She was a dedicated member of the Church of God.
Left to cherish her memory is her brother, Wayne "Pete" West and wife, Lou of Mint Hill; sons, David Shipman and wife, Tracy of Concord, and Tim Rogers of Statesville; grandchildren, James Rogers, Jason Rogers, Gavin Smith, Jordyn Shipman; great-grandchildren, Noah and Jackson Rogers. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.
