Obituary for Patsy Marlene Carter (Smallwood)
Mrs. Patsy Marlene Smallwood Carter, 82, of Cape Coral, FL, formerly of Carrollton, KY, passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2023.
She was born in Menifee, KY to the late Margaret Hunt Smallwood and Clarence "Hawk" Smallwood. Patsy was a kind-hearted person who always went out of her way to help others. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of all who knew her.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at Wilkinson Funeral Home chapel, officiated by Rev. Lewis Whittington, with burial to follow at West Concord Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Monday, May 1, 2023, at Wilkinson Funeral Home.
Patsy was preceded in death by her stepdaughters, Donna Lee Carter and Benita Carter, and her brothers, Jr. and Larry Smallwood, and Garnett Smallwood.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Benny E. Carter; sons, Clay Roberts and wife, Cathy, Kenny Carter and wife, Tammy; daughter, Patricia Bizzel, as well as a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Patsy had a passion for dancing and loved listening to music. In her younger years, Patsy was a stock car driver and was very proud of her ability. She had a smile that would light up a room and her laughter was contagious. Her selflessness and generosity were evident in all that she did, and she touched the lives of many through her acts of kindness and compassion.
Patsy's family and friends will miss her dearly but take comfort in knowing that she is now at peace and reunited with her loved ones who passed before her. She will always be remembered for her kind heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering love for her family. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
