CHINA GROVE- Rachel Shook McGrady, 66, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by loved ones on June 5, 2020.

Rachel was born in Cleveland County on August 12, 1953. She was the daughter of James M. and Madge Johnson Shook. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jack.
Rachel retired from a career working in a textile mill. Her life revolved around her love for her family. Her husband of over 50 years, her sons, their wives, and the grandchildren she helped raise were her number one priority at all times. She also loved simple thing in life like her little dogs, feeding the birds in her bird feeders, butterflies, and flowers.
Mrs. McGrady leaves behind her husband, Joseph Lee McGrady; sons, Jerry McGrady(Marie) and James McGrady(Deanna) of China Grove; sister, Ann Beaver(Larry) of Rockwell; brothers, J.R. Shook(Pat), David Shook, and Phillip Shook(Mary Ann) all of China Grove; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. In addition she had a large extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends that will miss her dearly.
