Obituary for Ricky Seymour
Mr. Ricky Lynn Seymour, age 62 of Rockwell, went home to be with his Lord on February 6, 2023 at Tucker Hospice House.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 11, 2023 from 10 am to 12 pm at Wilkinson Funeral Home. A homegoing celebration will be held in the chapel at 12 pm with Rev. Bobby Tallent and Rev. Roger Bostic officiating.
Ricky was born July 3, 1960 in Iredell County and was the son of the late James Gilbert Seymour and Kathleen Simmons Miller. He was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Johnny Miller and in-laws, Frank and Barbara Queen.
Prior to Ricky’s short battle with cancer, he was employed with Freightliner Trucking Company. He was also a Pastor and assistant choir director. He filled in for several churches, and truly loved his music ministry. Ricky was a gifted musician who played multiple instruments, wrote songs, and sang for the Lord. In his leisure times, he enjoyed gardening, fishing, boating and spending time at he and his wife’s “happy place”, the beach. Ricky was an active member of Gethsemane Baptist Church and the Lions Club. He loved to volunteer, doing whatever was needed. Ricky touched numerous lives while on this earth, and he will be truly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Judith “Judi” Mueller Seymour; step-children, Melinda Hamilton, Kathy Smith and husband, Michael, Rob Dixon and wife, Jeanie, Stewart Kirk, and Ray Mullis, Jr. and wife Lori; brothers, Randy Seymour and wife, Diane, and Ronnie Seymour and wife, Terry; grandchildren, Whitney Moyle and husband, Kevin, Autumn Drye, Alex Sheldon, Destiny Linker and husband, Chris, Sam Dixon, Luke Dixon, Cory Mullis and wife, Hannah, Tiffany Mullis, Hayden Eudy, and Haley Savage; 5 great-grandchildren, and many other loving relatives and friends.
