Obituary for Ron Blackwell
Mr. Ronald “Ron” Dale Blackwell Sr., age 76 of Kannapolis, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Atrium Health Main after a brief illness.
The family will receive friends at Wilkinson Funeral Home on Monday, March 13 from 6 to 7:30 pm. A graveside service will be held at Carolina Memorial Park on Tuesday, March 14 at 11 am.
Ron was born October 16, 1946 in Cabarrus County. He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy, and parents, Herman and Dorothy Williams Blackwell.
Ron graduated from Hartsell High School in 1965. He retired from Concord Fire Department and served on the Fire Department Honor Guard. He enjoyed fishing, doing yard work and putting together model airplane and car kits. Ron also loved spending time with his grandsons and supporting their sports activities.
Survivors include his son, Ronnie Blackwell and wife, Angela; daughter, Amy Childers; grandsons, Drew and Drake Blackwell, and Hunter Childers and wife, Brooke; brother, Monty Blackwell and wife, Becky, nephews, Brian and Shawne Blackwell and their families.
Memorials may be made to the Joe Cannon Trust, Concord Fire Department 100 Warren C. Coleman Blvd., Concord, NC 28025.
