Obituary for Ronnie Lee Hurst
Ronnie Lee Hurst, 75, of China Grove, passed away on Monday, May 24, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his family.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Charity Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Tom Dolinger. The family will receive friends from 1:30-3:00 prior to the service at church. Entombment will follow the service at Carolina Memorial Park.
Ronnie was born on January 24, 1946 in Bluefield, WV to the late Ovel Lee and Helen Martina Hurst. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Mary Jane Hurst.
He was the Chief of the Poplar Tent Fire Department for many years and owned Hurst Automotive and then later Mikes Wrecker Service. Ronnie enjoyed the great outdoors and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Hurst Gay and fiancée Scott Payne; son, Michael Dale Hurst; grandchildren, Stephanie Hurst Brooks and husband, Ben, Michael Lee Hurst, Brittany DeSantis, Devin Lee Gay, Dalton Mitchell Gay, Ava Leigh Hurst; great-grandchildren, Elliott Brooks, Grace Brooks, Emma Brooks, Loraine DeSantis and Easton Hurst.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Charity Baptist Church, 2420 Brantley Road, Kannapolis, NC 28083.
