Obituary for Terry Webster Mauney
Terry W. Mauney, 79, passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 21, 2022.
Burial will be held Friday, January 6, 2023 at 12:00pm at West Concord Cemetery. A celebration of life service will follow at 2:00pm at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Concord, NC. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Terry was born in Cabarrus County on May 29, 1943, to the late George Leroy and Helen Hathcock Mauney. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife Shelby Honeycutt Mauney and son, Dennis Mauney.
He was a graduate of Hartsell High School and Wingate University. He worked as an accountant, bookkeeper and tax preparer for his entire career and into his retirement.
He had been an active member of Bethlehem Baptist Church for many years, where he served the church as choir director, deacon and church treasurer. He was currently a member of Howell’s Missionary Baptist Church.
Terry will be remembered for his unconditional love and commitment to his family and friends.
He is survived by his sons, Chris Mauney (Dee) of Fountain Inn SC, Casey Mauney of Concord, and Jason Mauney (Shelley) of Concord; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Mauney of Concord; grandsons, Christopher, David, Daniel (Karen), Joshua (Victoria), Rodney (Jenni), and Michael (Stacey); and great grandchildren, Isabelle, Sophia, Annaleigh, Luke, Oliver and Kevin, in addition to his devoted friend Jenny Caudle and his sister-like friend Brenda Cole.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethlehem Baptist Church, 42 Liske Ave., Concord NC 28027 or Howell’s Missionary Baptist Church, 3800 Baptist Lane, Concord, NC 28025.
